Formerly the Reichsbahn (former German national railway) repair workshop. Today the area is populated with associations in the field of culture, music, theatre, a circus for children and more.
There are concerts and slam poetry all year as well as frequent open air cinema and a flea market in summer, some clubs as Cassiopeia, Astra and the Suicide Circus, a climbing garden on the walls of the old bunker with a beergarden and a skateboard hall.
RAW-temple (Reichsbahnausbesserungswerk) is an organisation of artist, clubs and other users of areal. They work and produce in former halls and old buildings.
The owner planned a revitalisation and development of the site. Placing of living is sensitive, because complaing inhabitans could kill the club industry on the site. We tried to find a solution
of dividing both living and club scene in a way that helps the site.

Each building was investigated and a catalogue was made. Some of the buildings are worth to keep because they have specific function (club) inside, architectural or other quality.

Noise distribution proposal
Noise barrier: club cluster and barrier of studios and offices
Club cluster: fences around club areals are replaced with buildings (studios), to keep the noise inside. Division produces new areals for new clubs.
Proposed public spread. Entrances are articulated by wide multifunctional staircases. Main koncept is a broad pedestrian street linking entrance and market hall. From this street pockets emerge.
Day and night usage of west square
Nine different options were developed. Each has some advantages in different parts of the site. at the end, options are mixed.
